Dr. Khozin is the founder of Information Exchange and Data Transformation (INFORMED), a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) initiative designed to advance oncology regulatory science through expansion of technical and organizational infrastructure for big data analytics. INFORMED integrates advances in data science and health information technology into a range of activities related to regulatory decision making and generation of clinical evidence, focusing on diverse data sources such as clinical trials, electronic health records and biosensor technologies.
Previously, Dr. Khozin was in private practice in New York City, an attending physician at New York Medical College St. Vincent’s Hospital in Manhattan, and an entrepreneur specializing in building health information technology systems with virtual patient management (including video, structured email, short message service and remote biometric monitoring) and point-of-care data visualization and analytics capabilities.
He received his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and his master of public health from George Washington University. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at New York Medical College and completed a medical oncology fellowship at the National Cancer Institute (NCI).
